About the Author
Mary Foreman Goodson was born and raised on the outskirts of Greenville. A small college town in Eastern North Carolina. She relished living in a farming community, with a love for the outdoors and her mother's southern cuisine. In other words, Mary loved being a country girl!

Advice from a friend led her to pursue her college education at St. Augustine's University in Raleigh, North Carolina, where she earned her undergraduate degree in business administration and at neighboring North Carolina State University where she earned her vocational education teaching certificate.

For nearly a decade, she enjoyed teaching children as a classroom teacher in middle and high schools in Central and Eastern North Carolina. Mary's devotion to education continued when she earned her master's degree in adult education from Strayer University and began her career as an instructor in the NC Community College System.

Now as a grandmother, she sees opportunities to continue educating life's youngest learners like her toddler grandson through her book Netta Poo's Adventures With Insects. Her daughter's father called her Netta Poo as a little girl.

Mary is an active mother of an adult son and daughter, as well as a member of Wake Chapel Church in Raleigh , North Carolina, and soror in the Gamma Sigma Sigma Service Sorority. She serves as a board member and creative marketing director for Amazing Grace Etiquette, A non profit that provides etiquette education and social development for youth and adults. Mary lives in central North Carolina.
